The upcoming ECO CON 2018 Symposium will consist of a day of talks, workshops and panel discussions about developments in sustainable concrete materials, the use of industrial by-product and waste materials and the application of the circular economy model to the production of concrete as a way to reduce carbon emissions, manage waste, protect finite natural resources and maximise efficiency. The event will conclude with a Brexit-themed panel discussion with representatives from QUB, Invest NI, Intertrade Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, to discuss the threats and opportunities posed by Brexit to the Irish and Northern Irish R&D sector. There will also be a mini-tradeshow featuring products from Banah, Ecocem, Elkem and one or two other local companies.
