Learners must have completed the BIM Level 2 Essentials/Fundamentals course (online or classroom) before registering for this course. This course is the second stage of the BRE Academy BIM training programme.
The course contains seven modules, leading to a practical working understanding of the management of information within the BIM Level 2 process. Having completed this course, you will have a practical understanding of some of the management, standards, methods and procedures, and a deeper understanding of the BIM environment.
This course covers Information management, Information management roles, Defining the information delivery cycle, Defining task information management responsibilities, Employers Information Requirements, Plain Language Questions, Pre-contract BIM Execution plans, Post-contract award BIM Execution Plans, Standards, methods and procedures, Need for defined SMPs, Production SMPs, Modelling SMPs, Common Date Environment approval gates, Asset Information Models, Soft Landings, Defining and understanding COBie, Applying the Common Data Environment process.
At the end of this course you will be able to identify key Information Management roles and understand the importance of clear Information Requirements. You will be equipped with the correct level of knowledge required to plan and draft a BIM Execution Plan as well as which Standards, Methods and Procedures are required to be included. You will also have an understanding on how information is created and exchanged within the Common Data Environment using the Standards, Methods and Procedures set out in the BIM Execution Plan.
