Exploring the costs and benefits of protecting and enhancing biodiversity in new residential developments
Alongside often delivering the same functions as traditional “grey” infrastructure, integrating biodiversity into developments can provide a wide range of environmental, social, and economic benefits. Nature-based solutions enhance climate resilience, improve long-term adaptability, and create value across multiple sustainability indicators simultaneously. This literature review examines the costs and benefits of nature-based solutions and highlights their contribution to more resilient and sustainable developments.
