Tuesday, 23rd October: Leading manufacturer of roofing and cladding products Tegral becomes gold member of the Irish Green Building Council.

The Irish Green Building Council is a charity and membership organisation. It was set up by frontrunners within the construction and property sectors in 2011. The Council and its 120 members work together for a sustainable built environment.
Paddy Kelly, Managing Director at Tegral said: “Sustainability is one of the greatest challenges and the greatest opportunities facing the construction industry. Tegral operates to several high environmental standards, including ISO 14001 and BES 6001 for responsible sourcing. We are now excited to join the IGBC and to collaborate with other members for a better built environment”.
Tegral is one of Ireland’s oldest roofing and cladding products manufacturers. It is also the world’s only fibre cement slate manufacturer to be awarded a rating of ‘Excellent’ for the BES 6001 standard. The BES 6001 standard was developed by the BRE to enable manufacturers prove that their products have been made with responsibly sourced materials.
Pat Barry CEO at the Irish Green Building Council added: “We are very pleased to welcome Tegral into IGBC membership as a gold member. Our gold membership level represents a commitment to sustainability leadership within the industry and we look forward to working closely with Tegral to drive positive change.”
