The Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) and Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) are launching the revamped Build Up Skills App

19th December 2022 by Irene_igbc

The Build Up Skills app has been designed to make finding courses on energy efficiency in construction that are right for you simple and fast. You can look up courses based on your profession or skills you’d like to learn such as airtightness, ventilation and more. There is a wide range of courses for all construction professionals and construction workers. The app hosts over a dozen courses provided by Universities, Further Education Institutes and other training providers. You can use the app without logging in or you can register and track the progress of your educational journey.

Watch this video to find out how to see the app

The Build Up Skills Advisor App was created as part of the BUS League project with the aim to facilitate easy upskilling in areas such as energy efficiency, circularity in construction, and embodied carbon.

The construction and built environment sector are one of two sectors with the highest carbon emissions in Ireland of nearly 37%. To achieve our national retrofit goals and truly set on a path to carbon neutral future, acquiring new skills is key. Now more than ever there is a great demand for more construction professionals and construction workers with skills in sustainable construction. Build Up Skills app is here to close some of that gap.
