7th December 2015 by alice_igbc

The Dublin School of Architecture, DIT Bolton Street, is seeking applications from building professionals to join a free postgraduate course in the design of buildings to meet the Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) performance standard. The initial delivery of the 10-credit postgraduate module, entitled ‘Professional Energy Skills in NZEB’, is being supported by EU funding, with the first cohort commencing in January 2016.

This course is being piloted in ten centres across Europe in preparation for a full commercial rollout to all building professionals in the EU in advance of the 2020 deadline for implementing the NZEB energy performance standard for all buildings.

This Professional Energy Skills in NZEB course has been developed as part of an EU Horizon 2020 funded project called ‘Meeting of Energy Professional Skills’ (MEnS). This module is aimed at architects, engineers, building surveyors and architectural technologists. Learning will take place in a multi-disciplinary environment with much of the course materials will be delivered online to facilitate working professionals.

  • Module offered free of charge to three cohorts, each of 40 students (would normally cost c.€1,000);
  • Module delivered in blended learning mode, with online material and limited college attendance;
