Webinar Series | EPD Journey: Understanding the Data within an EPD
A four-part webinar series
Start Your EPD Journey with Confidence
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are becoming increasingly important as demand grows for greater transparency around the environmental impacts of construction products.
But where do you start? What data do you need? And what does the process of developing and publishing an EPD actually involve?
This four-part webinar series, delivered as part of the IGBC’s EPD Ireland Programme Operator capacity-building programme, is designed to demystify the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and EPD process and help manufacturers take the first steps towards publishing an EPD.
Featuring experts from Goodbody Clearstream and EcoReview, the series explores four construction product categories: structural steel, heat pumps, precast concrete products, and windows and door systems.
Through practical insights and real-world experience, each session will guide manufacturers through the data collection process, the role of LCA consultants, verification and publication, and how to communicate EPD results effectively to the market.
The series will also highlight grant support available for EPD projects.

1. Your EPD Journey: Structural Steel
Date: Tuesday, 20 October 2026
Time: 12:00–13:00
Presenter: Goodbody Clearstream

This opening session introduces the EPD development journey through the structural steel sector. Goodbody Clearstream’s experts will explain why EPDs matter and explore the key stages involved in developing one, from collecting the right data to LCA, verification and publication.
Learn what information you need to gather, which stakeholders should be involved, and how to prepare your organisation to begin the EPD process.
2. Your EPD Journey: Precast Concrete Products
Date: Wednesday, 28 October 2026
Time: 12:00–13:00
Presenter: EcoReview

What does it take to develop an EPD for precast concrete products?
Led by Peter Seymour of EcoReview, this session takes a manufacturer’s perspective on the EPD process. It will explore the tasks involved, the data required to work with an LCA consultant, and the respective roles of the manufacturer and consultant throughout the process.
The session will also cover how to interpret the results presented in an EPD and communicate environmental performance effectively to the market.
3. Your EPD Journey: Heat Pumps
Date: Tuesday, 3 November 2026
Time: 12:00–13:00
Presenter: Goodbody Clearstream
Explore the EPD process through the heat pump sector with Goodbody Clearstream.
Drawing on practical experience in product sustainability and environmental assessment, the session will look at the information manufacturers need to collect, the key stages of developing an EPD, and the resources and stakeholders required to get started.
Gain a clearer understanding of how LCA and EPD development can support greater transparency around the environmental performance of heat pumps.
4. Your EPD Journey: Windows and Door Systems
Date: Wednesday, 18 November 2026
Time: 12:00–13:00
Presenter: EcoReview
Concluding the series, this session focuses on EPD development for windows and door systems.
Peter Seymour of EcoReview will guide manufacturers through the practical steps involved in preparing an EPD, from gathering product and manufacturing data to working with an LCA consultant and understanding the results.
The session will also explore how to communicate EPD information clearly and effectively to customers, specifiers and the wider construction market.
