This in-person evening session brings together professionals from across the island to explore opportunities, and practical pathways for delivering more sustainable, low-carbon buildings and infrastructure.

Pat Barry
CEO, Irish Green Building Council
Pat Barry is Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Green Building Council which he co-founded in 2011. He’s currently Chair of the European Regional Network of the World Green Building Council. He is an Architect with over 20 years of experience in Ireland, Europe and South America, a Master’s in Environmental design of buildings from the University of Cardiff and is a qualified Passive House and DGNB consultant.

Adil Hussain (CHAIR)
Net Zero Carbon Consultant, Mott MacDonald
Adil Hussain is a Net Zero Carbon Consultant at Mott MacDonald, specialising in the decarbonisation of buildings and estates across the public and private sectors. With a background in mechanical engineering and renewable energy, he combines energy modelling, technical analysis and delivery experience to develop practical, data-driven net zero strategies. Adil has delivered energy audits, feasibility studies and estate-wide decarbonisation assessments, alongside developing digital tools to support rapid analysis and investment planning.

Ciarán Fox
Director, Royal Society Of Ulster Architects
Ciarán is the Director of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects (RSUA), the professional body for architects in Northern Ireland. Since 2019 he has been Chair of the Steering Group for Climate NI, a cross-sectoral partnership devoted to understanding and enabling adaptation and mitigation actions in Northern Ireland that can address the climate emergency. Ciarán is currently Chair of the Northern Ireland Construction Group and Co-Chair of the Belfast Retrofit Delivery Hub.

Dr. Barry McCarron
Managing Director, KORE Retrofit
Dr. Barry McCarron is the Managing Director of KORE Retrofit, one of Ireland’s leading one-stop providers of comprehensive retrofit solutions. Prior to this, he served as Head of Business and Industry Support at South West College, where he played a key role in advancing industry partnerships and sustainability initiatives. Barry holds a PhD specializing in indoor radon monitoring in passive house buildings, an honours degree in Architectural Technology and Management from Ulster University, and an MSc in Sustainable Development from Queen’s University Belfast. A recognized advocate for climate action, he has actively contributed to global discussions at UN Climate Change Conferences (COP17, COP26, and COP27) and the International Youth Forum on Climate Finance.
Hope Lovelady
Associate Consultant and the Health Decarbonisation Lead, Mott MacDonald
Hope Lovelady is an Associate Consultant and the Health Decarbonisation Lead at Mott MacDonald. With a background in mechanical building services and sustainable building design, she works at the intersection of policy, strategy and delivery, supporting healthcare organisations to develop practical, evidence-based decarbonisation pathways. Hope has contributed to the NHS England Net Zero Building Standard, worked closely with NHS Wales and the Health Service Executive to develop their net zero strategies, and chaired the healthcare working group for the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard. Her work focuses on bridging ambition and implementation, ensuring net zero strategies are deliverable, aligned with patient outcomes, and support long term estate performance.
Jim Mulholland
Director, TODD Architects
Jim Mulholland is a Director at TODD Architects and leads the practice’s education sector team, overseeing the design and delivery of major projects across the UK and Ireland. With extensive experience in civic, cultural, and educational developments, he provides creative leadership and has played a key role in some of the practice’s most high-profile projects. Jim is also a board member of TODD Architects, helping to shape the firm’s strategic growth and client relationships.
Ryan Young
Director | Sustainability, Delap and Waller
Ryan Young is the Sustainability Director at Delap & Waller and has 12 years’ experience across the whole of the UK and the island of Ireland. D&W provide building services and sustainability consultancy including Part L/F Compliance, London Plan, Overheating Risk, Daylighting, Thermal Modelling, BREEAM, Home Performance Index, Net Zero Carbon Building Standard, WLC and Decarbonisation strategies. Our aim is to provide highly sustainable buildings which are considerate to the environment, client, and end user.
