10 new Environmental Product Declarations published under EPD Ireland for MEDITE MDF panels

16th March 2021 by Irene_igbc

EPD Ireland is delighted to announce a great addition to its EPD range: MEDITE have just published 10 Environmental Product Declarations for its MDF (Medium Density Fireboard) panels:

  • MEDITE CLEAR
  • MEDITE CLEAR FR
  • MEDITE EXTERIOR
  • MEDITE FQ
  • MEDITE INDUSTRIAL
  • MEDITE MR
  • MEDITE PREMIER
  • MEDITE PREMIER FR
  • MEDITE TRADE
  • MEDITE VENT

These MDF panels are produced in Clonmel (Ireland) to meet the diverse needs of users, specifiers and designers across Europe and beyond. MEDITE MDF boards are used in structural and non-structural applications, such as flooring, roofing, walling, timber-frame sheathing, temporary works and external hoarding.

Through the publication of these 10 Environmental Product Declarations, MEDITE committed to transparency on the impacts of their products. This data can now be used by specifier and designers to perform Life Cycle Assessments of building designs and get credits for certification schemes such as LEED, BREEAM and Home Performance Index.

These 10 declarations are Cradle to Gate with options. In this case, this means that the assessment includes the impacts of the production stage, transportation, assembly, waste processing and disposal.

The Company, back in 2019, published an EPD for SMARTPLY Oriented Strand Board (OSB)

In the next months, all EPD Ireland’s declarations are going to be digitalised and made available on ECO Portal.
