Last year, World Green Building Week introduced #BuildingTheTransition, emphasising the urgent need for sustainable practices in the construction industry, particularly in energy, regenerative, and just transition. This year, the event will focus on the path forward by reducing, electrifying, and adapting our built environment.
We have curated a series of events to help you understand why it’s crucial to #ActNowForClimate and address the biodiversity crisis.

Monday 9th
Retaining and Reusing to Deliver Net Zero Carbon Offices (SOLD OUT)
25 North Wall Quay Tour | Dublin | 3 pm
At 25 North Wall Quay, Iput have retained and reused existing materials, helping to deliver their first net zero carbon office development. The building has been designed to operate at 55kWh/sqm, offering extremely energy-efficient operations.

Revitalizing Our Towns with Nature-Based Solutions and Biodiversity
Cobh Town Centre Urban Design Plan Tour | Cobh | 2 pm – 4 pm
Cork County Council’s CPIU Unit is spearheading the Cobh Town Centre Urban Design Plan, aiming to create beautiful, inclusive, and sustainable public spaces. The tour will include a visit to rain gardens and extensive urban greening which reduce flood risks, enhance water quality, foster biodiversity, and improve the built environment.

The Nuts and Bolts of CSRD Reporting
ESG Community of Practice | Dublin | 9.00 am – 10.30 am
CSRD has been transposed into Irish law and companies in scope will be required to report annually in their director’s report on environmental, social and governance (ESG) and human right matters according to the European Sustainability Report Standards (ESRS). Join our CoP to learn from experts in the industry.

Fostering Cross-Professional Collaboration for Decarbonisation
Cross-disciplinary Roundtable on Whole Life Carbon | Engineers Ireland HQ, Dublin 4 | 11 am
This roundtable will provide an opportunity for the different professions and professional bodies to come together and explore the value of working together to reduce carbon in construction and the built environment. It will explore barriers to collaboration and how these can be tackled.

Wave Dynamics is hosting an in-house workshop this Friday for World Green Building Week to unveil and discuss the development of WDA’s new sustainability policy. The event will focus on communicating sustainability goals and exploring how WDA can contribute to more sustainable buildings through their work and product specifications.
