The Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) is a registered charity member organisation (450 corporate members) and Ireland’s leading authority on sustainable building and construction practices. Role Overview:
As membership & engagement support Officer, you support our learning and membership engagement activities. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of learning and networking events that align with the IGBC’s mission to promote sustainable building practices. This role requires collaboration across all teams within IGBC, and it is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain experience in event coordination and stakeholder engagement within the sustainability sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Membership Support:
- Provide administrative support to IGBC members, responding to inquiries and maintaining accurate membership records using HubSpot.
- Assist in the coordination of member engagement activities, including newsletters, networking events, and online forums.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new members.
- Membership Learning support:
- Assist in the development and updating of learning materials for workshops and webinars.
- Help coordinate with speakers and trainers to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational content.
- Provide support during live webinars, including technical assistance and audience engagement.
- Collect feedback post-event, to support future content creation.
- Engagement:
- Assist in the planning and organization of IGBC workshops, webinars, and other events (as required).
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue booking, catering, and technical support.
- Manage event registrations and ensure timely communication with attendees.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of promotional materials for events.
- Support the development of event agendas, liaising with speakers and facilitators.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate records of event attendance and feedback.
- Provide general administrative support to the Director of Membership and other team members as needed, e.g., as part of reporting for funded projects.
- Ensure accurate and complete membership updates and general information is collected and updated in HubSpot in a correct and timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: A degree or diploma in business administration, event management, marketing, sustainability, etc or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Some experience in event planning, customer service, or administrative support is beneficial but not required.
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- CRM experience is preferred, not required.
- Experience with social media platforms and online event tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Eventbrite) is a plus.
- Passion for sustainability and green building practices.

Marketing and Communications:

- Support the comms team including to social media content and campaigns to promote IGBC events and activities.
- Assist in the production of event reports, capturing key learnings and feedback from participants.
- Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
What We Offer:
- Starting salary range €29,000 – €33,000 depending on experience reviewed annually.
- 23 days annual leave rising to 28 after 7 years.
