RKD Architects are seeking to recruit a Sustainability Consultant for our Dublin office.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage sustainability projects from concept to handover stage, undertaking LEED, WELL, Fitwel and/or BREEAM Assessments across commercial, industrial/mission critical & education sectors in Ireland and wider EMEA.
- Identify opportunities for carbon reduction on projects and provide technical solutions validated through LCA and whole life assessments
- Advise on NZEB, Low/Net Zero Carbon/Energy Building and MMC design strategies.
- Work closely with project team to develop innovative design solutions to meet client or practice goals for sustainability.
- Undertake climate risk assessment and whole building life-cycle assessment.
- Understand and apply current and proposed sustainability related legislation (Building and Planning regulations).
- Liaise with our in-house research team on disruptive technologies, sustainable design research and assist on carbon neutral workplace development and 2025 practice targets.
- Prepare technical reports.
The successful Candidate
- Bachelor of Architecture Degree or degree in Environmental/ Sustainability or related subject
- Qualifications/Credentials in one or more of the following: LEED AP BD&C / ID+C and/or BREEAM UK, International Assessor Licence, WELL AP Fitwel Ambassador
- Knowledge of embodied and operational carbon modelling software packages e.g. OneClick, EC3, Pre-Optima, IESVE
- At least 3 years’ experience as a sustainability/energy consultant or related position
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Project engineering / management skills
