Implementation of Circularity, WLC and LCC in Public Construction Projects

20th April 2023 by Irene_igbc

This handbook introduces you to some of the key green indicators that should be applied within the procurement of public construction projects in addition to the energy efficiency requirements in Building regulations TGD Part L.

These include Circularity, Whole Life Carbon Assessment and Life Cycle Costing. It explains why these are important to integrate into projects, and how there is now a standardised EU approach to the application of the indicators through the EU framework for sustainable buildings: Level(s). This handbook sets out the appropriate level of assessment and how to apply the indicators at each of the stages of the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF), as well as who should be involved. It provides links to guidance, tools and education available in Ireland and internationally for the application of the indicators.
