Thursday, 23rd August: The Irish Green Building Council launches today a webinar series on the imminent nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) requirements.
Pat Barry, CEO of the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) said: “An nZEB building is a very high energy performance building. Its low energy requirements must be covered to a significant extend by renewables”.
The nZEB standard gradually comes into force in Ireland from 1st January 2019. All new buildings completed after the 31st December 2020 must comply with nZEB.
Barry added: “I am delighted to launch our nZEB webinar series today. It covers all building professionals need to know to achieve the new standards. Building fabric, ventilation and renewables. It allows professionals across Ireland to get ready for nZEB without leaving their desks.”
The nZEB standard is required under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. It is implemented in Ireland through revisions to the building regulations. Part L – Buildings other than Dwellings 2017 and Part L – Dwellings 2018.
The webinar series is made up of two series. A series for dwellings: nZEB for Residential Webinars and a second series for buildings other than dwellings: nZEB for Commercial Webinars. Each series is composed of 4 1-hour biweekly webinars. The IGBC’s nZEB webinar series will kick-start from Thursday 4th October.
The IGBC’s nZEB webinar series is kindly sponsored by Electric Ireland and Kingspan.
