Twitter’s new HQ, 1 Cumberland Place owned by Hibernia REIT has achieved LEED Platinum certification placing it among one of the few offices in Dublin to achieve the highest LEED accreditation. To achieve this, building aspects including water consumption, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and material selection were designed and installed in line with LEED’s guidelines and metrics.
One of the key sustainable attributes of Cumberland House is that the majority of the existing building was retained, with special care taken to keep the building structure with any materials arising from demolition salvaged for re-use on site where possible. It is also an ideal city centre location with excellent access to public transport and amenities.
The focus of the project team including KSN and OCSC ensured that full merits were achieved in design. This followed through to the construction stage of the project, where Flynn Management & Contractors worked closely with OCSC’s LEED AP to uphold the construction elements to the same standard and retain the Platinum status.
