The Government working group on timber is aiming to accelerate the use of timber in Irish construction including reviewing or developing standards for mass timber in Irish construction potentially removing barriers to construction above 11 metres in the next number of years.
We will hear from a pioneer in mass timber Andrew Waugh of Thistleton Waugh who has developed the New Model Building which outlines a set of principles and guidance for the design and construction of multi-storey mass-timber buildings that adhere to the UK’s new fire safety regulations and Catriona Duggan from Gottstein Architecture who have sector specialisation in mass timber construction in Ireland.
