LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary rating system for building projects for both new design and renovation and for all building functions. In Ireland, there is a growing interest by owners and developers for buildings that have an environmental rating. This means that there are a number of professionals and companies in Ireland that are tendering for and working on LEED projects, which is creating a need for LEED Green Associate and LEED Accredited Professional training.
The IGBC has developed a LEED Green Associate training programme to get professionals started on the path to LEED accreditation. The LEED Green Associate training programme consists of a one-day workshop which covers the fundamental of the LEED system, how the categories and credits work, as well essential knowledge of sustainable building concepts that are fundamental to all LEED Rating Systems. The workshop also reviews the LEED Green Associate exam topics, and presents case studies for discussion.
Please note: This programme is not required to take the LEED Green Associate exam, but provides participants with an understanding of the LEED systems and processes for the LEED Green Associate exam, as well as a foundation for working on LEED projects in Ireland or abroad.
