This Virtual Learning Programme is for Built Environment Professionals to share experiences, challenges, examples and practical guidance on how to get to Net Zero | IGBC members £108 – Standard price £276
Objectives and Outcomes
- To deepen understanding of Green Buildings and explore Green Building practices globally
- Digest and define what Net Zero looks like for your own business or project
The programme lasts 4 weeks in total, with the first pilot programme taking place 1 – 30 June, it involves a total of 2 days spread across the 4 weeks (approximately 0.5 days a week, spread across each week).
The programme is run through the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment, and entails guided learning throughout, facilitated by Green Building Council (UK, World and other European GBCs) experts.
A range of activities, seminars, readings and case examples are provided throughout with forum discussions and debates to explore the key challenges to achieving sustainable buildings and net zero.
The programme
After getting connected and started into the Virtual Learning Environment, the core programme is as follows:
Week 1: Concepts
In this week of the programme, we will recap on the why building green is so critical for the future, and explore where your own business is. Key components of green building will be covered as well and the various built environment contexts (policy, market, cities).
Week 2: Cases
In this week, we explore good practice examples, specific case studies and take a look at different building typologies, we will learn from each other as to key challenges as well as what your business is doing to ‘build green’.
Week 3: Action
This action week is about the key challenge – how we get to net zero. This would be as applied to your own business, project or building.
Week 4: Change
We will hold a close out forum where you will share your assignment and findings, and discuss how you, and your peers, can take net zero forwards.
Following sign up, you will receive a welcome email and details on how to access the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment ready for the programme start on 1 June 2020.
