Briefing note on Construction Products Regulations

The department of the Environment has issued a briefing note on the construction products regulations which come into force exactly one year from now. These have implications for the manufacturing industry as there are now requiresments to carry out Life Cycle analysis on products in order to receive the CE mark.

The construction products regulations which will replace the construction products directive will be introduced on 1 July 2013 and will apply to all products which are covered by European Harmonised Standards.

The IGBC intends to further brief members in the coming months on the implications and what Irish Industry needs to do.
